Posted on May 28, 2018 at 10:26 pm

The design is relevant to so many of the things we do in modern-day business. It appears in our day to day lives, in more ways than we might realise. If you think that you don’t need good design work, think again. A bad design is certainly going to get you noticed – but for all the wrong reasons.

These are some of the places where you might need to use design within a business setting:

  • On your business cards. You need to make sure the layout is simple yet appealing, clearly showcasing your company name and job role.
  • Your website. This is so important for making the right impression. If you use your website as a marketing tool, this becomes even more important.
  • In brochures. Your company brochures need to use a design for branding, to make it clear they are part of your company’s literature.
  • In emails. Emails may be quick forms of communication, but they can still look good. Create templates that are well designed.

Making Ongoing Improvements to your Website

Posted on September 3, 2017 at 8:34 am

Your website is an ongoing project and you should never consider it to be finished. There is always something more you can do, whether it is updating a landing page or carrying out some in-depth analysis to inform your marketing decisions. Whatever you decide to do with your website, keep on doing it – a website is never perfect so keep working on it.

You may want to have a schedule of updates for your website to ensure that all areas are covered. This will allow you to cover all areas of your site systematically so that all areas receive their updates. Make notes on what could change, such as the content or the calls to action or the liking structure. If something works on one area of your site particularly well, see if you can replicate it elsewhere. People are obviously reacting to it well so make the most of it.

Things to consider when you become a Graphic Designer

Posted on November 28, 2015 at 8:39 pm

Are you starting off on a journey of becoming a graphic designer? Of course, we’re sure you’re confident enough in your skills and what you can achieve but here are three fundamentals we think you should always consider.

  • The most important element of graphic design in our opinion is typography. Think about the brand logos and you will always remember the type of font used in their logo. McDonalds and Nike are two very good examples.
  • Simplicity is key. Going overboard with designs is one mistake many graphic designers used to make. By over designing something, your design will not achieve it’s end goal of being memorable.
  • Consider the audience of your design. Again typography is very important when it comes to this.
