Making Ongoing Improvements to your Website

Posted on September 3, 2017 at 8:34 am

Your website is an ongoing project and you should never consider it to be finished. There is always something more you can do, whether it is updating a landing page or carrying out some in-depth analysis to inform your marketing decisions. Whatever you decide to do with your website, keep on doing it – a website is never perfect so keep working on it.

You may want to have a schedule of updates for your website to ensure that all areas are covered. This will allow you to cover all areas of your site systematically so that all areas receive their updates. Make notes on what could change, such as the content or the calls to action or the liking structure. If something works on one area of your site particularly well, see if you can replicate it elsewhere. People are obviously reacting to it well so make the most of it.

Things to consider when you become a Graphic Designer

Posted on November 28, 2015 at 8:39 pm

Are you starting off on a journey of becoming a graphic designer? Of course, we’re sure you’re confident enough in your skills and what you can achieve but here are three fundamentals we think you should always consider.

  • The most important element of graphic design in our opinion is typography. Think about the brand logos and you will always remember the type of font used in their logo. McDonalds and Nike are two very good examples.
  • Simplicity is key. Going overboard with designs is one mistake many graphic designers used to make. By over designing something, your design will not achieve it’s end goal of being memorable.
  • Consider the audience of your design. Again typography is very important when it comes to this.

Using the correct images in your website design

Posted on August 31, 2015 at 9:41 pm

When designing a website you need to think carefully about what images you are going to use. It may be that you require a few header images to go across the main banner on your website and then possibly images of your staff, products and/or services. Using bad quality images can represent your company in the wrong way making it look unprofessional and dated.

Hiring a photographer for the day will allow you to get quality images in the corrct size and format you need for online and offline use. Taking images from Google is never a good idea as most of them are protected by copyright laws and you could find yourself in trouble for using them.

You can purchase generic images from certain stock websites but remember if you are using them to advertise a product you may need to put a note on stating that the images are for illustration purposes only.
