Focusing on the Important Tasks in Business

Posted on August 19, 2018 at 3:42 pm

There is a theory in business: concentrate on the £1,000 tasks, as these are the ones that are going to make you the most money. There are also £100 tasks, ones that are of medium importance, and £10 tasks, which come a long way down the list of important jobs. If you want to make more money for your business, you need to be focusing on those £1,000 tasks.

But what about the other tasks, you might ask. Don’t they need to be done tot? This is true, they certainly do all need to be taken care of. However, there is also the option to outsource the less important tasks, as they can be done by anybody. The £1,000 tasks can probably only be done by you as the business owner, or somebody else very high up. Think about outsourcing IT tasks and everyday admin tasks, perhaps to an agency or a virtual assistant, to help with the running of your business.

Why Your Business May Need Content Marketing

Posted on October 18, 2016 at 8:31 pm

The rise of social media is one reason that content marketing has become more important today. In the past, you may have created a piece of content and put it on your site or in an email newsletter. Now, you have all these social channels to feed. The good news is you can take a single piece of content and make it work across multiple channels, especially social media networks. It all feeds back to your brand.

Google’s recent Panda and Penguin algorithm changes have had people talking about the need for better content marketing, too.

For instance, the Panda algorithm updates, first rolled out in February 2011, have targeted sites with “thin” or otherwise low-quality content. In Panda’s wake, those practicing questionable SEO tactics such as stuffing keywords into junky website content in hopes of ranking well discovered that Google was penalizing their content by pushing it down in rankings.
